Why is there a lowercase "r" on recycle?

Recycling is NOT a solution to our global environmental problems!

Recycling is more of a smoke screen created by the government to enable the general population to feel good about helping our environment. In fact recycling does little to improve the environmental problems that our world now faces. The individuals in power are in power because of big business. Big business is big because they ensure that customers must replace broken, inferior products. It is a vicious circle that is hard to stop.

The true causes of global warming are over consumption. Gluttony is one of the deadly sins and gluttony is what's causing the decline of our environment.

True, recycling reduces the need to source raw materials from our natural resources, however, it is the energy consumed that adds to the stresses of our planet's ecosystems. The amount of energy used to either, source raw materials, or recycle used materials, are very similar. It is the way the energy is now harnessed that creates the greenhouse gases that threaten our planet.
